The Checkerboard Birthday Cake is Coming...
Ok, I have always wanted to make this cake and thanks to my good friend, C, who gave me the special pan....Justin is going to get a checkboard cake for his birthday tomorrow. At least I hope so!! Of course I have to try something I have never tried before for a large group of people.

I love making that cake. I bought myself the pan set when I was in college. How'd it turn out? Sorry I missed the tailgate party. Things are rather at the moment in TX.

Good Job, Lauren on 'That Would Be Lovely'! I was lucky enough to indulge in Marc's gluten-free birthday cake and it was delicious. Also, your cookie houses were very darling. They looked too cute to eat, BUT, I couldn't resist. They tasted just as good, as they looked.
